For example, Nanu Bajracharya's son was diagnosed with a serious case of tuberculosis and the road to recovery required sustained medical treatment — the kind that, without support, would have been nearly impossible to afford. Thanks to health insurance purchased through the worker development fund, Nanu’s family was able to access the care her son needed without being pushed into financial crisis. “If it wasn’t for the health insurance, we would have been burdened with debt for a long time,” she reflects. Today, her son is on the path to recovery, and Nanu can continue her work with the stability and peace of mind every mother deserves.
