These terms apply when you use naataqgear.com or buy from us online. “Naataq Gear”, “we” and “us” mean Naataq Gear LLC of Nome, Alaska. By using this site or placing an order, you agree to these terms and to our refund policy, shipping policy and privacy policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

What we sell

We sell our own Naataq Gear outerwear, handmade pieces by local artists, and boutique items from other makers. We describe and photograph every item as accurately as we can, but colors can look different on screens, and handmade pieces vary from one to the next. Many art pieces are one of a kind. For clothing, please check our size chart before you order.

Some art is made with traditional materials such as sealskin. Rules about owning or reselling items made with these materials differ from place to place, so please check the rules where the item is going before you order.

Orders

To order, you must be of legal age where you live, or order with a parent’s or guardian’s permission. Placing an order is an offer to buy, and your confirmation email means we’ve received it.

We also sell in person at our shop in Nome, so an item can occasionally sell out before we pack your order. If we can’t send something you ordered, we’ll let you know and refund you in full for it.

We may cancel an order if a product or price was listed by mistake, or if we suspect fraud. If a price was wrong, we’ll offer you the item at the correct price or a full refund.

Orders on this website are for personal use. If you run a shop and would like to carry our products, contact us about wholesale.

Prices and payment

Prices are in US dollars and can change without notice. You pay the price shown when you place your order. Shipping and any sales tax are added at checkout. Payment is taken through our Shopify checkout.

Shipping, returns and refunds

We ship only to addresses in the United States. Our orders leave Nome by air, so delivery dates are estimates and weather can cause delays. Our shipping policy explains the details, including what to do if a package arrives damaged or goes missing. Returns, exchanges and refunds are covered by our refund policy.

Your account

If you create an account, please keep your login details private and your information up to date. You’re responsible for orders placed through your account.

Using this site

Please don’t misuse the site: no attempts to break or overload it, to get into other people’s information, or to use it for anything unlawful. We may block access for anyone who does.

Our designs and content

The Naataq Gear name and logo, our designs, and the photos and text on this site belong to Naataq Gear or to the artists and makers we work with. You’re welcome to share links to our pages, but please don’t copy or reuse our designs, photos or text without our written permission.

Other websites and services

Our store runs on Shopify, and payment is handled through Shopify’s checkout, but your purchase is with Naataq Gear, not Shopify. Links to other sites, such as Instagram and Facebook, are there for convenience. We aren’t responsible for their content or how they handle your information.

Our responsibility to you

We stand behind what we sell as described in our refund policy. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, this site and our products are provided as they are, and we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses. Where we are liable, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the order in question. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can’t be waived.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed. The terms in place when you placed an order apply to that order.

Other legal terms

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alaska and applicable United States law. If any part of them can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. Together with the policies linked above, they are the whole agreement between you and us about using this site and ordering online.
